Visit the Union Pacific Railroad Museum for a trip through 140 years of railroading in the United States.  Follow the progress of the race to build the transcontinental railroad, and how Union Pacific became our country’s east-west artery, transporting passengers and freight across the American wilderness.  Hands-on exhibits allow you to experience everything from a telegraph to being an Engineer on a locomotive simulator!  Come and discover how railroads helped lead America’s technological revolution at the Union Pacific Railroad. The Union Pacific Railroad Museum is housed in the beautifully restored Carnegie Library in Council Bluff’s beautiful historic district.

For Railroad Days only see the fantastic 20+ foot layout of the N-track model train club.   Delve into dining with the special exhibit “Dining in Railroad Style” which brings to life the elegance and drama of dining aboard a streamliner train.  Call the diners to dinner with a real dining car chime and build your own circus-themed children’s menu to take home.  Railroad china, rarely on display, is showcased in this special, temporary exhibit.
